Sightseeing & Activities

Would you like to combine business with some pleasure while visiting Rotterdam? Then you are at the right place at this dynamic port city, renowned for its modern architecture and international character. Rotterdam is the Netherlands' second largest city. It has reinvented itself into a hub of innovation, culture and design. From striking skyscrapers and world-class museums to riverside dining and lively markets, there is always something to discover. Did you know Rotterdam is home to one of the world's largest ports and is often referred to as the ‘Gateway to Europe'? Its bold skyline and creative spirit make it an exciting city in the Netherlands to explore.

Our tips

Erasmus Bridge & Kop van Zuid district
Known as the ‘Swan' for its elegant shape, the Erasmus Bridge is one of Rotterdam's most iconic landmarks. Spanning the Maas river, it connects the historic city centre with the modern ‘Kop van Zuid' district, which is a perfect spot for an evening stroll, a nice dinner or a drink with a view.

Markthal& Cube Houses
This impressive indoor market is both an architectural masterpiece and a culinary paradise. Beneath its vast arch-shaped roof you will find fresh products, speciality foods, and local delicacies — all under a spectacular ceiling artwork called "Horn of Plenty".

Close to the Markthal, just behind Blaak train station, you will find the famous Cube Houses (‘Kubuswoningen'), designed by architect Piet Blom. They offer one of Rotterdam's most photographed sights. Curious about the interior? Take a look inside the ‘Kijk-Kubus' Museum House.

Depot Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen
Located in the Museum Park, the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen - nicknamed ‘The Pot' - is a real eyecatcher designed by architectural firm MVRDV. It is the world's first publicly accessible art storage facility. Its striking mirrored façade and vast collection of over 151,000 artworks makes it a must-visit for design and art lovers alike.

The Euromast
For a vast panoramic view of Rotterdam, visit the Euromast observation tower. Standing at 185 metres, it offers breathtaking views of the city, the river and even the North Sea on a clear day. Enjoy lunch or dinner in the restaurant or take the rotating glass lift to the very top.

Whether you have a few hours or a full day to spare, Rotterdam promises a rich mix of culture, creativity and urban charm, the perfect setting to complement your conference visit.
